Become As We Go Academy

Empowering Underserved Children Through Quality Education

Become As We Go Academy is a dedicated elementary school serving the community of Monsteraddo, Liberia. Our mission is to provide quality education to low-income students, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to create a brighter future.

Welcome to B.A.W.G.A!

The Problem

High Poverty Rates

In Liberia, approximately 50% of the population lives in extreme poverty, earning less than $2.15 per day. Poverty directly affects access to education, with many families unable to afford tuition fees, uniforms, or school supplies

Limited Access to Affordable, Quality Education

Many schools in rural Montserrado are underfunded, overcrowded, and lack trained educators, reducing the quality of education available. Private schools, often the only alternative, remain unaffordable for the majority of families

Barriers to Education

Financial Constraints: Families struggle to prioritize education when basic needs like food and shelter are unmet. Transportation Issues: Remote communities lack reliable infrastructure, making it difficult for children to attend school. Inadequate Resources: Schools lack essential materials such as textbooks, teaching aids, and proper facilities
